2007
Sourceworx was founded in 2007 with a specific mandate: to deliver IT infrastructure that performs in South Africa's operating environment. Not infrastructure modelled on international blueprints and retrofitted for local conditions — but purpose-built systems, designed for the power constraints, connectivity realities and regulatory requirements that define how South African enterprises run.
Today we operate from Sandton with a team of 60+ engineers and specialists across network infrastructure, cybersecurity, managed services and software development. We hold Triple ISO certification — 9001, 27001 and 20000 — the only framework that covers service quality, information security and IT service management simultaneously. Our clients include financial services institutions, government entities, higher education campuses and mining operations. What they share is a requirement for infrastructure that simply does not fail.
We are not a reseller that layers a service wrap over vendor hardware. We are engineers and architects who design, implement and take operational responsibility for the infrastructure we deliver. Our NOC operates around the clock. Our SLAs are contractual commitments, not aspirational targets.
FOUNDED IN SANDTON
Sourceworx is established in Hyde Park, Johannesburg, with a focus on IT infrastructure consulting for South African mid-market businesses. The founding mandate: deliver engineering-grade infrastructure without enterprise-scale overheads.
2010
ISO 9001 CERTIFICATION
Sourceworx achieves ISO 9001 certification, formalising the quality management systems governing every project delivery. The certification becomes the operational framework against which all service lines are measured.
2013
NOC LAUNCH & MANAGED SERVICES EXPANSION
The Network Operations Centre goes live, enabling 24/7 proactive infrastructure monitoring for clients. Managed IT services expand significantly — Sourceworx moves from project-based delivery into long-term operational partnerships.
2016
ISO 27001 CERTIFICATION - CYBERSECURITY PRACTICE
Achieving ISO 27001 marks the formal launch of Sourceworx's dedicated cybersecurity practice, including a Security Operations Centre. Financial services and government clients begin engaging the SOC for 24/7 threat monitoring and incident response.
2019
ISO 20000 — TRIPLE CERTIFICATION ACHIEVED
ISO 20000 certification completes the Triple ISO framework — the only IT service provider certification that simultaneously covers service quality, information security and IT service management. Sourceworx becomes one of a small group of SA firms to hold all three.
2019
SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT & EDVANTAGE LAUNCH
Sourceworx expands into enterprise software development with the launch of EDVantage, an AI-powered learning platform, and deepens its Microsoft Dynamics 365 implementation practice. The iManage project management toolset is introduced to the client portfolio.
2024
POPIA COMPLIANCE & NATIONAL FOOTPRINT
Full POPIA compliance frameworks are implemented across all client-facing services. Sourceworx's national service footprint is formalised, with active infrastructure engagements across Gauteng, the Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and the Free State.
